The x2 Adventure Package

The Personal Transporter x2 provides enhanced performance on varied terrain with minimal environmental impact. Featuring all-terrain tires, a robust fender design, lithium-ion batteries and specially tuned software, the rugged x2 will go practically anywhere in the wild that you want to go, whether it's along nature trails, over hilly terrain or on the beach.

The x2's low-pressure tires cushion the ride on bumpy surfaces and minimize trail impact, while a continuous center rib provides a smooth ride on paved surfaces. The increased track width increases stability on uneven ground, and the x2 happily navigates a variety of surfaces including sand, grass, gravel, dirt and pavement. Depending on local regulations, it may be possible to use the x2 on multi-use pathways but it is not intended for use on sidewalks or pedestrian walkways. Check out the i2 for sidewalk use.

PT i2The x2 features new LeanSteer technology, as well as the wireless InfoKey controller. These advancements make the ride even more intuitive and exhilarating and provide interesting trip data so you can track your journey from start to finish. The long-lasting lithium-ion batteries support the power demands of the x2, while still providing up to 12 miles of off-pavement range (depending on terrain, riding style and payload).

The sturdy fenders on the x2 are designed to protect you from debris and to safeguard you during leaning turns. The aluminum fender frames feature built-in lift handles that help you (and a friend!) get a grip on the x2 for loading in and out of a vehicle. The fender frames serve as a base for carrying cargo and are compatible with cargo plates and the Hard Cases by Givi.

SPEED
Top Speed and Turning Rate

The maximum forward speed and turning rate of your x2 can be set using the wireless InfoKey controller. The two settings are:

  • Beginner Mode
    Maximum speed: 6 mph (9.6 km/h)
    Slower turning rate

  • Regular Mode
    Maximum speed: 12.5 mph (20 km/h)
    Most responsive turning rate


RANGE
10-14 miles (16-22.5 km) off pavement

The range for the x2 varies with terrain, payload and riding style. Under normal riding conditions on the course, you can expect to ride about up to 14 miles.

TEMPERATURE
14° to 122° F (-10° to 50° C)

When stored and charged at room temperature, the x2 can operate in environments ranging from 14° to 122° F / -10° to 50° C. Actual performance is dependent on battery temperature, terrain, riding style and payload.


TERRAIN

The x2's enhanced-traction tires and wider track make it ideal for rugged terrain. The x2's inertial sensors constantly monitor the rider's position relative to gravity. This allows the x2 to adjust for changes in terrain while keeping the rider upright.

We designed the x2 to take up not much more space than the average person. A little wider than the average person's shoulders, it raises you about 9.5 inches off the ground, providing a clear sight line of your surroundings.

The x2 was built to handle rugged terrain. It can fit in the back of most minivans and SUVs. The standard lower cargo frames provide a convenient handhold for lifting.

TURNING RADIUS: ZERO

One characteristic of any person is the ability to turn in place without impacting any nearby person or object, something few vehicles can do. By balancing on a single axle, x2 riders can also turn in place.

POWER
Lithium-ion Battery Packs

The x2 comes standard with Saphion lithium-ion battery packs. The batteries are designed with on-board electronics that automatically monitor both the condition and temperature of the batteries. Batteries can be recharged by utilizing any 90 to 260 volt and 50 to 60 Hz AC outlet (typically accessible in most countries). A complete cycle charge will take eight to ten hours, about the cost of a newspaper. Li-ion batteries are designed for approximately 1000 full charge/discharge cycles.

Range, battery life and recharge times can be affected by factors such as terrain, temperature, speed of operation, rider weight and load, proper storage techniques and environmental conditions.

Redundant Electrical Systems
Robust Mechanical Systems

Safety is our top priority in both design and operation. To help ensure that both x2 users and those near them remain safe, we built redundancy into the balancing and electrical systems. If any system begins operating at diminished capacity, the other is programmed to assume responsibility. This allows the x2 to maintain balance and bring the rider to a safe stop.

The highest design standards were implemented in building the x2's mechanical structures, and each part has been thoroughly tested and analyzed to ensure such high standards were met.
